Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member ,Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer , he called on newly appointed Sport and Recreational Minister , Kofi Adams , to closely monitor the selection process for the Black Star .
Kofi Adams was officially sworn into office on Friday , Febuary 7 , at the jubilee House . Over the years, concerns have been raised about undue influence on national team selection , with report suggesting that certain players have been imposed on coaches.
In an interview , Osei Kweku Palmer urged the member of Parliament for Buem to take keen interest in the players chosen for the national team . He also advised Adams to seek technical expertise to help him navigate the the complexities of team selection at the Black star level.
“I have known Kofi Adams for some time now . He is mostly quiet but you wouldn’t want to push him and so i am sure that he will delver as sport Minister , “he told sporty Fm .
He added , “Kofi Adams must scrutinise every call up to the Black Star , I know he is not a techincal person but he must get someone to assist him techinally to be able to understand these things’ .
Meanwhile ,on his first day in office , Kofi Adams Met with the leadership of the Ghana Football Assciation (GFA) on Monday , February 10 , to discuss key football matters .
The Black Star are set to regroup next month for Macthday five and six of the 2026 World Cup qualifies .
