Minister of health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has led a delegation to Winneba and Agona swedru to assess the situation and engage with affected communities accompanied by the acting Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Prof. Samuel kaba, and the WHO country representative, Dr.Frank lule, to visit aimed to strengthen response efforts, support health workers, and reinforced public health measures.

The team visited Winneba Municipal Hospital and Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital, where they interacted with cholera patients and assured them of the government’s commitment to containing the outbreak.

Hon. Akandoh commended health workers for their dedication and urged them to remain vigilant. He also engaged communities leaders and volunteers, stressing the need for improved Sanitation and hygiene to break the chains of transmission.

The minister assured that his office would work closely with the ministry of local Government and Rural Development to address Sanitation challenges and prevent further outbreak.

Ghana health service continue to urge the public to prioritize hygiene and Sanitation to curb the spread of cholera.
