The Minority Caucus in Parliament has officially boycotted the Ad-Hoc Committee probing the January 30 disturbances at the Appointments Committee.

Their reason? They’re waiting on the Speaker of Parliament to respond to their memorandum before making any moves.

“Given the significance of the issues raised, the Minority Caucus considers it prudent to await the Speaker’s response before taking any further steps in relation to the Committee’s work,” a portion of their memo to Committee Chairman Emmanuel Bedzrah reads.

But don’t get it twisted—the Minority insists this isn’t them avoiding the process.

Instead, they see it as a necessary step to ensure fairness and credibility in the proceedings.

“We trust that the Speaker will address these concerns in a manner that upholds the integrity of the Committee’s work and the broader interests of Parliament,” the statement adds.
