It’s a wrong call – Mohammed Polo on appointment of Winfred Schaffer as Black Stars technical advisor
1978 AFCON winner, Mohammed Polo has raised concerns about the appointment of German gaffer, Winfred Schaffer as the technical advisor of the Black Stars.
Schaffer was appointed two-weeks ago to serve as the technical advisor of the national team. The experienced German tactician, who is an AFCON winner with Cameroon in 2002 will work directly with head coach Otto Addo in an attempt to rejuvenate the Black Stars.
In an attempt to revitalize the national side, the Ghana FA implemented major changes to the Black Stars’ technical team, with Schaffer, an AFCON winner with Cameroon in 2002 securing the technical advisor job.
Desmond Offei, the current head coach of Ghana’s U20 team, joins the Black Stars’ technical bench as an assistant coach, replacing Joseph Lauman.
He will work alongside assistants John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda, who have retained their roles under head coach Otto Addo.
