University of Education Basic School Celebrates Independence Week .

The University of Education Basic School marked Ghana’s Independence Day with a week-long celebration aimed at immersing students in the country’s rich culture and history .

The celebration took place from March 3rd to March 5th and featured a series of events and activities designed to educate and entertain the students .

On Day One, students learned about the major events that led to Ghana’s independence through video lessons, with a special focus on the 1948 riots .

Day Two saw students representing the five major ethnic groups in GhanaAkan, Ewe, Ga Adangbe, Mole Dagbani, and Guans, through their languages, traditional dress, food, and festivals .

The final day of the celebration was dedicated to food, with students learning how to prepare traditional Ghanaian dishes such as fufu, acheke, and banku, among others .

According to Mr. Joseph Baidoo, a staff member in charge of communication and media, the aim of the celebration week was to immerse the students in Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and educate them about the country’s struggle for independence .
